What is the Zebra Race for Rare?
The Zebra Race for Rare is a 5k virtual and in-person run held annually each February to celebrate rare disease month, and to offer family foundations working to fund rare disease research an opportunity to come together to raise awareness and funding for their programs.
Who benefits from the funds I raise?
All funds raised by teams are directly passed to their designated funds, expenses for the in-person race are sponsored by the Rare Village Foundation.
How can I support the Zebra Race for Rare? (There are a lot of ways to get involved!)
Register to run in person or virtually – In person runners should register at itsyourrace.com and virtual runners at www.rarevillage.org. All registered runners will receive a t-shirt and finishers medal!
Start or join a fundraising team! – once you’re registered for the race, you can start or join a team to start fundraising for the fund of your choice! Runners who register for the in-person event can also join a team by signing up as an in-person runner on the rare village site and selecting a team.
Volunteer to help at the event – we will need helpers for the t-shirt tables and post refreshment tables! Reach out at [email protected] to volunteer!
Donate! – You can support a specific fund, or the Rare Village fund by donating directly to that fund or team on the rarevillage.org website.
Share your videos, stories and more on social – help us raise awareness about rare disease day! Be sure to tag #zebrarace2024 or #rarevillage so we can share your post!
Can’t wait to see you in 2024!
Love, Gina & Kasey
